Winemaker Notes: Hand-picked at night, fermented in small 1 ton bins with partial stem inclusion, punched down by-hand, and 14 months of aging in 25% new fine-grain French oak define some of the techniques utilized on this extremely small production wine. In the glass, vibrant red cherries are balanced by peat moss and potting soil on the nose. A soft textural entry leads to good tension between lush but bright berries, lifted oak and a marine-mineral character; very unique to the Pommard clone and special coastal location of this vineyard. This wine is both luxurious and complex in the short term and will age incredibly well for a decade or more.
